Primary schools:
We ensure that the school has:

prevention and response to school-related gender-based violence activities

We support students’ academic success by:

conducting individualized educational assessments to determine students’ learning needs and styles

facilitating the provision of inclusive education for all students, including students with disabilities

ensuring students finish primary school and have a clear plan for transitioning to secondary school.
Secondary schools:
We arrange transportation or lodging for students to attend secondary school, and scholarships for high performing students.
We offer secondary students three options:

Scholarships on a merit basis to pursue university

Scholarships to vocational training programs

Internships or work placement in companies

Entrepreneurial training to start businesses
We ask secondary school students to volunteer to return to their primary school to provide mentoring to younger students.
We facilitate access to vocational programs that can help youth gain important skills.
We support women and youth to start a business or to scale up their business by

Increasing Access to Quality Health Services
We work closely with the health facility(ies) in the community to ensure they medications necessary for major childhood and adult illnesses.
We ensure women and adolescent girls have access to reproductive, maternal and child health, and mental health services.
We offer bio-medical, behavioral and structural interventions for HIV and STI prevention, care and treatment, such as:

Pre- and post-exposure prophylaxis for HIV, voluntary medical male circumcision, and anti-retroviral therapy

Comprehensive education related to safe sexual practices and reduction of risky behaviors (as appropriate to the context and community); and peer education programs

Community engagement to provide supportive environment for HIV prevention, including stigma, and discrimination
Foundational
Activities

We conduct a comprehensive Gender Equality and Social Inclusion Analysis to better understand the social and inclusion dynamics

We engage community members to reduce the stigma of disability, and try to ensure that all children and adults with disabilities have access to education, economic opportunities, and health care.

We facilitate an adapted version of the SASA program to prevent and response to gender-based violence in the community

We implement robust Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning measures

We have strong policies and processes to safeguard exploitation and abuse against program participants by Women Rising International staff or our partners.
